IN THE MAKING

The idea of creating a Website was brought about during the meeting of Mr. James Moran and Kgd. Nestor San Pablo last December, 2002. Afterwhich, Mr. Moran conceptualized the design of the web, started the data gathering and coordinating with Hon. Mayor Alex A. Burce and other LGU agency. Later, he seek the support of his cousin Mr. Rene Waldo Moran for the actual web design, development and maintenance of the Official Tabaco Tourism Website which was formally started on February 2003. The development started from scratch, NO FUNDS, NO COMPUTER, but with the determination of the webmaster and the conceptualizor, they used their own personal resources and/or on a computer rental to make the dream of a website come to reality. It was initially dubbed as WOWTABACO and later change to TABACOINI. The N.M. Alparce Memorial Foundation supported the concepts and idea and funded the uploading of the system to IPC and other expenses of the program before it was launched.

FORMAL LAUNCHING

On June 16, 2003, TabacoIni was fomally launched and put Tabaco City to global competition through cyberspace. Inspite of Typhoon "Harurot" that passes the area, the launching was held at LCC Concourse and graced by the Vice-Mayor Oscar Rocha, Sangguniang Panglungsod Tourism chairman, Nestor San Pablo and Lgd. Lourdes Belangel, chairman for the ways and means of the Sangguniang Panglungsod. Also, present are the chairwoman of the NMAMFI Elisa A. Moran, Tourism Council chairman Efren Ante and president of MCC Ireen Dyangko. Impressions as we quote from the guests are:

As we open our door to the information highway and promote tourism industry and vying to be the investment hub of the first district of Albay. We still seek support to the website development of www.TabacoIni.net.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT

Eventhough, the TabacoIni has already gained recognition, launched, establishment but the job does'nt STOP here. Since the proposed of these are:

1. To promote the Tourism Industry of the city globally;
2. To serve as information link to investment opportunities in the city by local, national and foreign business;
3. and to act as avenue to related development of tourism. We still need to EXPAND, IMPROVE the website to a more informative, supportive to the cause.

These development includes the posting of a job opportunities, more information of with regards to investment/activities related to tourism, legislative act by Sangguniang Panglungsod and others.

To put these idea in a tangible manner we appeal to government and the people to patronize this endeavor through financial support, to be more cooperative in coordinating your activities to us so in the end we could have a Master Plan for Tourism and achieve our DREAM!
